On Fire Together
Communities renewed by hearts set alight
“They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem… and found the Eleven gathered together.”
(Luke 24:33)
The Emmaus journey does not end on the road.
When the disciples’ hearts burn with new understanding, they return to the others. Renewal moves outward. What was awakened personally and strengthened in companionship now begins to reshape the community.
On Fire Together names the third movement of Walking Emmaus: hearts set alight coming together to renew and encourage the church.
From personal renewal to shared life
Faith is never meant to remain private. As individuals are awakened and strengthened, they bring new attentiveness, hope, and courage into the life of the community.
When hearts are burning:
worship becomes more alive
prayer becomes more expectant
conversations deepen
encouragement multiplies
discipleship becomes shared rather than assumed
The fire spreads through presence, testimony, and mutual encouragement.
Stirring one another
Community renewal is not driven by programmes alone, but by people whose hearts are alive to Christ. As Scripture says, we are called to “stir one another up to love and good works” (Hebrews 10:24).
This movement invites communities to:
create space for faith stories to be shared
encourage one another intentionally
nurture discipleship across generations
discern together where God is leading
A church on fire is not frantic or driven — it is attentive, hopeful, and alive.
Fire that cannot be contained
When a community is renewed, the flame naturally looks outward. The warmth that gathers people together becomes light for the wider world.
