Walking Emmaus

A journey of hearts set on fire

What is Walking Emmaus?

Walking Emmaus is a Christian way of life shaped by the story of Jesus walking with two disciples on the road to Emmaus.

As they walked, their hearts were stirred, their faith deepened through shared companionship, their community was renewed, and they went out into the world carrying good news.

Walking Emmaus invites us into the same journey — walking with Christ, walking with one another, and walking faithfully into the world God loves.

Walking Emmaus is not a programme to complete or a technique to master.
It is a pathway of renewal — personal, relational, communal, and missional — rooted in Scripture and attentive to the work of the Spirit.

The journey unfolds through four interconnected movements. Each movement fans the fire of faith and draws us further into God’s renewing work in us, among us, and through us.

The Four Movements

🔥 Kindling the Fire

Encountering Jesus and stirring the heart

Every journey begins with encounter. As Christ walks with us, hearts are awakened and faith is renewed. Through prayer, Scripture, silence, and reflection, the embers of desire for God are kindled once more.

🔥 Fanning the Flame

One-to-one companionship that nurtures faith

Faith grows best when it is shared. Walking Emmaus makes space for intentional, one-to-one companionship where stories are listened to, calling is discerned, and the fire of faith is gently fanned.

🔥 On Fire Together

Communities renewed by burning hearts

When hearts on fire come together, the church is renewed. Worship is deepened, discipleship is strengthened, and communities are enlivened by shared faith, hope, and love.

🔥 Carrying the Flame

Sent into the world in ministry and mission

The Emmaus journey does not end around the table. Those whose hearts have been set alight are sent — into homes, workplaces, neighbourhoods, and communities — carrying the flame of God’s love into the world God loves.
