Carrying the Flame

“You are witnesses of these things.” – Luke 24:48

The Movement

Hearts that burn cannot remain contained. Those who have encountered Christ, walked together, and rejoiced in community are sent — as witnesses, participants in God’s work of love and renewal.

Carrying the Flame is the fourth movement of Walking Emmaus: living and serving in the world with hearts on fire. Mission flows naturally from a heart warmed by Christ.

Living the Movement

Carrying the flame can be lived out in ordinary life:

  • Faithful presence in daily activities

  • Acts of love, service, and justice

  • Speaking hope through encouragement or testimony

  • Creative expressions of God’s love through art, music, or writing

  • Mentoring, supporting, or guiding others in faith

  • Joining in what God is already doing in your community
